AlterNet now provides a number of RSS webfeeds for content featured on the site. These feeds provide AlterNet readers an easy way to stay informed about the AlterNet content they care about. The feeds are updated as soon as stories are available on the site.

What are webfeeds and RSS?
AlterNet webfeeds are in the RSS format. These webfeeds allow AlterNet to share the latest stories, from select areas of the site, with AlterNet readers as soon as a story is available. In a way, it's a "What's New" that's made available in a format that can be read by any RSS reader (see below for suggested RSS readers). The webfeeds contain the latest headlines and descriptions in addition to a direct link to the story on AlterNet.org. For AlterNet readers with a web site, AlterNet webfeeds are the best way to add AlterNet headlines to your site.
How do I use webfeeds?
Since AlterNet's webfeeds are in the RSS format, you'll need an RSS reader (also known as an RSS aggregator) to view them.
Where do I download an RSS reader?
There are many feed readers available, most for free. You can search Google for "RSS reader" to view many options.
A few RSS readers you can try are:
PC users: FeedDemon
Mac users: NetNewsWire
Windows/Mac/Linux: Amphetadesk
Web-based reader: BlogLines
OK, I've downloaded the reader, now how do I get AlterNet webfeeds?
Once you've installed the RSS reader, you can add AlterNet feeds by clicking on the links above. Setting up a feed differs depending on the reader, but it usually involves copying the URL of the feed and pasting it into the reader.
